Serena Williams wins the 2008 US open Tennis tournament and Posing with the US Open trophy. Serena Williams captured her ninth career Grand Slam title on Sunday at the 2008 US Open. As amazing as she played Serena defeated Jelena Jankovic in straight sets 6-4, 7-5 in the women’s singles final. Unfortunately Jelena wasn’t any match to her and we could expect a better final. Jankovic said
“I was proud to be in the final, but I’m obviously disappointed that I lost,”
On the other hand Williams said
“I am so excited. I wasn’t even going for No. 1. It’s just like an added bonus.”

The 2008 US Open Women double finals had been played between Cara Black/Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond/Samantha Stosur. Just so you know Black and Huber are three-time major champions together, with victories coming in 2007 at Wimbledon and the Australian Open and in 2005 at the All England Club. On the other hand The 2008 Wimbledon runners-up Raymond and Stosur were the U.S. Open champs in 2005 and captured the French Open in 2006. Now it’s time to settle down and choose the best.
